How Much Does The IELTS Test Cost?
You must pay a price of Rs. 14,000 to take the IELTS exam (academic and general training). This fee is applicable to both the pen-and-paper test and the computer-delivered test. A price of Rs. 15,050 must be paid if you plan to take the IELTS for UK immigration and visas. The test can be paid for in a number of ways. You can pay using a credit card, debit card, cash, demand draughts, net banking, payment wallets, or payment methods.
Please be aware that not all Indian centers take cash or debit or credit cards.

IELTS is a test that you cannot fail, thus the score you need will depend on what the university and your country demand. The minimal IELTS score that each university will accept can be found on their website. Each university will have its own IELTS requirement. For postgraduate studies, most nations need a minimum score of 6.5, while 6.0 is the standard for undergraduate courses. Canada, Australia, the United States, and New Zealand are among these nations. The minimum IELTS score accepted in the UK is 5.5.
Results
13 days after the test is administered, the IELTS results are sent. For 28 days, the results will be viewable.
The majority of centers will give you the choice of receiving an SMS update from the center or seeing the results online. Even better, you can request that the center mail you the results or let you pick them up in person.
To access your results, you will also need your passport or ID number in addition to your candidate number.
When you register for your IELTS, you can designate up to five colleges or organizations to get your IELTS results. While sending your scores to these five organizations is free, sending your grades to additional organizations will incur a minor administration fee.
Validity and Retakes
The validity of your IELTS results is three years. There are no limitations on when you can choose to repeat the IELTS based on when you last took it. You will need to check availability beforehand and request a time and date that work for you. You can even take the IELTS exam twice in a month because it is offered two to three times every month.
Transfer, Cancellation, and Refund
IELTS test cancellation or postponement requests must be made at least five weeks prior to the exam date. This can be accomplished in person or by email. You won’t get a refund if you don’t accomplish this within five weeks.
There are some exceptions, though, and in these circumstances, you will get a refund if you can show that you are unable to take the test. The exclusions include critical diseases or injuries, the loss or bereavement of a close relative, hardships or trauma brought on by a crime committed against you or as a result of an accident, and all of the aforementioned.
It’s important to note that you cannot change the dates or times of the various components of your exam. You cannot simply postpone your speaking test for the IELTS because it still counts toward your overall score.
IELTS Test Day
You should check the location, date, and time of your IELTS test to make sure you arrive before it starts because it’s possible that it will be administered somewhere other than the test center where you made your reservation. If you show up there after the exam has started, you might not be able to take it.
You must leave all electronic devices, including your phone, outside the test room along with your other personal things because they are not permitted within.
There will be no breaks between the three sections of the test—listening, reading, and writing—once the 2 hours and 40 minutes of testing have started. You might want to make sure you’ve eaten before your test because you can only bring drinks in a visible bottle.
You should also have identification on you. Make sure you have the appropriate ID that is listed in the documentation you receive after registering for the exam because the staff will need to check your identity.
Before the test starts, the IELTS staff will take your picture and record it on your Test Report form in addition to validating your ID. Your biometric information is also required by some centers.
If you have a condition that will aid you on the day of your test or if you have a disability, you may also be able to make special accommodations.
You may only have three objects on your desk throughout the test: your ID, a pencil or pen, and an eraser.
You can raise your hand to let the invigilator know if you have any queries or need to use the restroom. During your listening test, if your headset isn’t working, let the invigilator know as soon as you can.
You must remain seated once your test is finished until the invigilator gives you the okay to leave the room.

Before scheduling your IELTS exam, do your research on the test centre in light of the complaints made by students regarding broken headsets and computers.
If you make a mistake in your spoken exam, bringing it up won’t make it stand out any more. There is a good possibility the examiner will find the mistake. By fixing the error, you’ll demonstrate to the examiner that you’re aware of it and capable of doing it yourself.
Although you can use a pen or pencil for your IELTS writing, it is always advised to use a pencil for the listening, writing, and reading portions because you can always erase if you make a mistake. Never leave home without an eraser.
